Oelwein Health Care Receives Quality Care Award Posted 17 July 2008 Local nursing home Oelwein Health Care is among seven care facilities across the state who have been selected to receive the 2008 Governor's Award for Quality of Care in Health Care Facilities. Oelwein Health Care is recognized for it's continual implementation of new ways for providing quality care to residents. The center was cited for its consistent staff policies, in which staff are assigned to the same resident or wing at all times. This allows residents to feel a sense of closeness and trust with their caregivers. Also highlighted in the nomination were Oelwein Health Care's Culture Change Steering Committee, Neighborhood Activity Program and their well-organized volunteer program.
