Former
Agriprocessor Supervisors Plead Not Guilty

Two former
Agriprocessors Inc. supervisors, Juan Carlos Guerrero-Espinoza, 35, and
Martin De La Rosa-Loera, 43, charged with aiding and abetting illegal
workers at the Postville meatpacking plant pleaded not guilty
yesterday, Thursday, July 17, in U.S. northern Iowa District Court.
Guerrero-Espinoza and De La Rosa-Loera, were both charged with aiding
and abetting another in knowingly possessing, obtaining, accepting and
receiving a resident alien card, knowing the card had been forged,
counterfeited, falsely made or otherwise unlawfully obtained.
Guerrero-Espinoza also was charged with knowingly aiding and abetting
the transfer, possession and use of, without lawful authority a
resident alien card assigned to another person.
Their trials have been set for Sept. 15 and both men will remain in
federal custody until that time.
