Drug Charges Result from Wadena Accident

Drugs discovered at the scene of an accident on July 4 near Wadena led area investigators to a home search which resulted in additional charges for a Wadena man.
 
On Friday, July 4, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office found a vehicle in the ditch just west of W-51 on Kornhill Road just outside of Wadena. The driver, Richard Todd Wheeler, age 41 of Wadena, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a controlled substance.
 
The Sheriff's Office then conducted a search of his residence and discovered more controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
 
Wheeler was transported to the Fayette County Jail and charged with Driving while intoxicated II, Possession of controlled substance II (Marijuana), Fail to maintain control, Operating a non registered vehicle, No insurance on vehicle and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
