Threshing Days this Weekend in Clermont
Posted 25 July 2008
Heritage Farm Park, Hwy 18, Clermont, will be celebrating
Threshing Days this Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, with
activities for all ages.
The event kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, with Breakfast served from
7-10:30 at the barn. The parade around the grounds begins at 11:00 a.m.
This year’s featured tractor is Allis Chalmers, but all tractors and
parade entries are welcome.
After the parade, get ready for the Horse Pull at 12:30 with several
teams competing. Following is an antique tractor pull, so bring your
tractor and join the fun. At 3:00 p.m. there will be a consignment
auction fund raiser, a great time to bring in items for sale on a
commission basis. Saturday concludes with a DJ and dance.
On Sunday, things get on their way with breakfast, followed by a
mini-rod/garden tractor pull at 10:00 a.m. Then Heartland Pullers take
on the show with a sanctioned tractor pull beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Both days offer plenty of activities for everyone---antique equipment
demo’s, flea market, bake sale, wagon rides thru the trails, and park
buildings open for viewing. Kids will have fun in the jumping tent,
going down the water slide, finding coins in the sandbox, and trying
their luck fishing during the contest at the pond.
The park is also raffling off a 1955 WD45 Allis Chalmers or $1000 as a
fundraiser to be given away on Sunday after the tractor pull.
Admission to all activities is free except for the Heartland Tractor
Pull on Sunday. Food served both days with beer available. No coolers
please.
