Foundation Golf Tourney June 13

Northeast Iowa Community College invites area residents to participate
in the 27th Annual NICC Foundation Golf Tournament and Scholarship
Fundraiser on Saturday, June 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The South
Winn Golf and Country Club in Calmar will host the event. Join NICC for
a day of competition and contribution to future college students, while
taking a shot at over $3,000 in raffle prizes, flag and flight prizes,
and the President’s Challenge.
NICC welcomes special guest Bruce Aune, KCRG-TV news anchor, for a day
of golf in support of NICC students. Aune started his broadcasting
career in 1966 at KLIZ Radio in his hometown, Brainerd, Minn. He
continued in radio during college and worked as a sports reporter for
AFN-Europe in Frankfurt, Germany, during his time in the Army. In the
early 80s he became news director and anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City,
and from there he went on to
anchor and report at WREX-TV in Rockford, Ill., and WILX-TV in Lansing,
Mich. Bruce came to KCRG-TV in 1986 and has anchored three evening
newscasts since then.
The Calmar South Winn Golf Tournament each summer helps the Foundation
provide area residents with access to a quality education. The NICC
Foundation Golf Tournaments at Peosta and Calmar, along with R.J.
McElroy matching grants, have raised
over $700,000 for student scholarships. To register, contact Janet
