Offering
Iowa Real Estate Salesperson Pre-License Courses

Northeast Iowa Community College is offering continuing education for
any individual interested in becoming a real estate salesperson. The
Iowa Salesperson Pre-License course satisfies Iowa’s 60-hour education
requirement and is being taught by real estate professional Becky
Martel, CRS, GRI, e-Pro of Martel Education Source. The course will
help prepare participants to take the Iowa Real Estate Licensing Exam.
Course topics include agency, zoning, legal descriptions, contracts,
appraising, taxation, trust accounts, financing and more. This course
is conveniently scheduled over four weekends: March 6-7; March 13-14;
March 20-21; and March 27-28. Course meeting times are Saturday 8 a.m.
-5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the NICC Calmar campus.
In addition to this pre-license course, an applicant applying for an
original Iowa salesperson license must also provide evidence of
successfully completing the following mandatory real estate courses:
Buying Practices (12 hours), Listing Practices (12 hours) and
Developing Professionalism & Ethical Practices (12 hours).
NICC will also offer these courses at the Calmar Campus this April.
